Shardlight ultimately pales in comparison and is an average adventure game that’s just about kept afloat by its world and story. Reviews Shardlight review: A pixelated post-apocalypse point-and-click pleasure By 8:26 am PST Experts Rating Pros Slavish devotion to retro point-and-clicks Small details help make. Their previous game, the superb Technobabylon, combined smart writing and well-rounded characters with a compelling murder mystery, which is a hard act to follow. Shardlight isn’t one of Wadjet Eye’s best adventures, but it’s not one of its worst either. Wadjet Eye Games has a long history of making this style of game, and from what Ive heard theyre one a handful of companies who consistently put out great point & click adventures. Amusingly, I listened to the commentary track for this puzzle and the developers even seemed unconvinced that including it was a good idea. Shardlight (developed and published by Wadjet Eye Games) is a classic point & click adventure in every sense of the word. The rebellion against the new world order seems just as shady. The plot has plenty of twists and turns that will keep you second guessing yourself throughout the game. The kind of thing you'd expect to find at the end of one of these games. Shardlight takes a post-apocalyptic premise you've seen a million times in countless works of fiction and sucks you into a well-developed world populated with genuine characters. The feeling of beating it was satisfying, but it was a frustrating early stumbling block. One relatively early glyph-based puzzle had me scratching my head for a good 40 minutes, and by the time I solved it my desk was covered in scrawled notes. There are some lighter moments to be found, but mostly the story is as sombre and serious as your bleakly beautiful surroundings. Old vic theatre premium seats, Animal jam 3d game, Mackillop school. ![]() A sense of humour is often what keeps you going in adventures when the puzzles get frustrating and you feel lost, but Shardlight plays it very straight. This is a problem with most old school-style adventure games, of course, but that doesn’t give them a free pass. It’s a far cry from the bleak wasteland of Fallout, and you get the feeling that, in the wake of whichever war took place here, society is beginning to piece itself back together. World War III happened sometime in the early two thousands. Amy visits a shanty town market that’s bustling with shoppers and has friendly conversations with people. Shardlight is a post-apocalyptic point-and-click adventure game created by Wadjet Eye Games and released in 2016. ![]() No “Action!” and “Cut!” You had one chance to get everything right, eight shows a week. My introduction to the stage was very eye-opening. I believe the only reason I got the job was because I wasn’t afraid to swing on the rope in the opening of the show. What I do know is that we were at the Gershwin Theatre auditioning for Show Boat, over and over, as what seemed to be hundreds of kids dwindled down to five. The idea of live performances in front of thousands of people was very alien to us, until one fateful day when we went on what we thought was a Pepsi commercial audition. It wasn’t really my thing, so my mother took my brother and me to New York City and we stumped the pavement. We went to the Barbizon School of Modeling and Acting for a short time. My mother had no clue how to get me started, but I would quickly come to learn that she would always find a way to make things happen for her children. In the midst of the uncertainty of life, I told my mother I wanted to be inside the box (otherwise known as the television) when I was watching kids acting on The Cosby Show. We looked for shelters in New York, but ended up staying at an old neighbor’s vacant home in New Jersey until we could get back on our feet. It wasn’t the most ideal situation, but we’d later find ourselves homeless again when the house burned down less than a year later. My mother and father fell on hard times after they left the Marines. She slept with us in the back seat of a 1980s white Oldsmobile to keep us warm at night. I remember being on a two-week car trip, which was fun in my eyes, but we never knew our mom was really trying to figure out how to get us into a home. The crazy thing about it all is that my brother and I never knew we were homeless. The RadCity 5 Plus comes with a new saddle for Rad Power Bikes that’s far more comfortable. In a world where every single mile of additional assistance means even more comfort riding the bike, more miles per day of riding, or even more cargo that can be hauled around town, an extra 3-5 miles is meaningful. The result is not only a more precisely tuned motor that feels much more like an extension of the natural bike riding experience but, when paired with Rad Power Bikes new 27.5″ x 2″ tires, translates to an increase in the range per charge of a massive 11%. ![]() From the bare bones of the motor, they worked their way up, specifically tuning each assistance level, each power output level, and each throttle response curve for the RadCity 5 Plus. Rad Power Bikes hit full stop on the entire motor and reset their expectations to the bare bones of what they wanted their motors to do. In fact, they are quite different in how they apply the power at each level of assistance, in response to the throttle, and for short burst during peak exertion. Not all motors with a 750 watt rating are the same. Rad Power Bikes has been designing and building electric bikes for years now and has really started pouring all that mastery into its motors. In addition to fresh new looks and a wide range of accessories that let you customize your bike to suit your lifestyle, the new RadCity 5 Plus boasts a few upgrades that aren’t visible on the surface. One of the keys actually has a little LED light in it which is super convenient if you find yourself locking or unlocking your bike in poor lighting conditions. This particular lock from ABUS takes the crown for security as the highest security lock in the ABUS lineup, thanks to its 5.5mm bars and high security key system. I love folding locks as they come in nice compact packages and open up for much better coverage than a traditional U-lock. The ABUS Bordo Granit X-Plus 1500 folding lock is an absolute beast of a lock. I was able to easily velcro it onto the front and rear racks, the handlebars as well as a number of other places on the bike. Rad Power Bikes one upped my DIY tool kit by wrapping their kit up in a slick folding pack that doubles as a means to attach the kit to the bike. The kit also includes a few of the items that I normally have stashed in a reusable bag in my hydration pack including zip ties, a few common sizes of box wrench and a bicycle-specific folding tool. Flat tires are some of the most common things you might have to fix while on the go and are a good reminder to also pack a tire pump. First and foremost, it includes a tube patch kit and tire irons. This compact kit packs a ton of tools that will help you get up and running after a range of common repairs you might run into on the road. ![]() We used it to carry some of Rad Power Bikes’ newest accessories, an ABUS Bordo Granit X-Plus 6500 folding lock and their new Roadside Repair kit. They hooked our review bike up with a front basket which is a great place to park frequently used items like a bag of groceries or a backpack. It makes it easy to bolt one of Rad Power Bikes’ front racks or front baskets to the bike with minimal fuss. Rad Power Bikes equipped the RadCity 5 Plus with the ability to haul gear up front as well, thanks to their integrated four-bolt front rack system. If you find yourself hauling a small child, pet, or other form of cargo on the rear rack, don’t fret. Just clip it in and BAM! You’re off to the races. As a special bonus, the rear rack is also compatible with a single Yepp Maxi Child Seat without any adapters.
